KD Chapter to Colonize at Brown University Spring 2013
Brown University in Providence R.I., has selected Kappa Delta to colonize a chapter in spring 2013. Kappa Delta will join two other National Panhellenic groups on campus: Alpha Chi Omega and Kappa Alpha Theta. “We are honored to join the Brown community,” said Betty Mulkey, national vice president, who leads Kappa Delta’s extension efforts. “Brown is renowned not only for its educational culture, but for its distinctive student body — independent, energetic, mature, responsible and self-directed. Kappa Delta strives to be an organization that is socially conscious and forward-thinking, and those are the kind of women we know we will meet at Brown.” This will be Kappa Delta’s 149 active collegiate chapter and the first established chapter in Rhode Island. For additional information or for those interested in helping with the colonization, contact Kirstin Barry, extension and new chapter development manager at Kappa Delta National Headquarters, at 901-748-1897, ext. 202 or kirstin.barry@kappadelta.org. Kappa Delta alumnae members interested in joining the chapter advisory board should complete an application. |

KD Chapter at Boston University - Announced March 2010
It is official - Kappa Delta has been invited to colonize a chapter on the Boston University campus in the Fall of 2010! Excited is an understatement! We are thrilled to join our Panhellenic friends at Boston and have a 2nd chapter in Massachusetts join our circle. The colonization will take place in September. Thanks to all who participated in making this possible. You all did a great job sharing KD with
the
campus – especially our students from Northeastern and Dartmouth. Your
presence and your stories really showed them who we are! Alumnae and
advisers – you really showed them that KD is for life! Special thanks to
Team
Boston – Beth, Sue, Jenn, Megan, Katie and Danielle! |
Kappa Delta Continues to Expand in New England - Feb 2010
KD continues its expansion into New England with a new alumnae chapter and a presentation to join another campus. The Greater Vermont Alumnae Chapter was formed in 2009 - contact email is sweetpea91899@yahoo.com Kappa Delta has been invited to make an extension presentation at Boston University on Wednesday, March 3rd at 7pm in the Kenmore Building on campus. Alumnae are both welcome and encouraged to attend. In fact, we have found that a strong showing of alumnae is often what tilts the decision in our favor. So we need you there!!! Please RSVP to Lauren Carter at csm35910@kappadelta.org of you plan to attend. Also, if you have a connection to BU or the other Boston universities, please let me know that as well. We have a few questions for you! The other very important factor is having alumnae who are willing to make a commitment to serving on the Chapter Advisory Board and be mentors for potential KD collegians at BU. This is an opportunity to have a powerful impact on a young woman's life. So please consider this opportunity. We need a minimum of 9 women to serve (the more the better as it makes it easier for everyone) and training will be provided by our National Director of Chapter Advisory Boards, Jenn Cronin. It is also just a lot of fun to join with other alumnae in a shared mission. If you are interested in serving, please email Jenn Cronin at jenncroninkd@yahoo.com. Boston University would be a great college to
have a KD chapter and with our growing reputation and visibility in the
northeast there will be a strong collegiate and alumnae support network to
support you and the chapter.
